Friday 27th May

Yep, winter has arrived. The heating is now on when we get up and it’s back on again when we get home from work. I keep it on about 20 degrees and that seems just comfortable. I think this month’s gas bill is going to be a bit of a shock though!

Work….still a bit boring as it hasn’t kicked off yet, but we are getting lots of interest and lots of enquiries, so before long I’ll be complaining that I’m way too busy! I’m now bringing all my CD’s into work and bopping around the office to the music (we’re allowed to listen to music…yey!!). One really exciting thing – We’ve just been given denim shirts to wear at work with our company name and logo on them…lovely jubbly!

I’m on the last few days of my detox now. Haven’t lost a huge amount of weight but there’s still time!! I’ve definitely lost inches though. I may even stick at it (without all of the restrictions though) for a bit longer as it’s not too bad. See my weight blog if you want to know all about it.

I’ve got my 10k run on Sunday morning. It’s up in town so we’re going to have to leave home at about 7.30am!!! Nick & Alana are coming too for support, so they can be my cheersquad. I’ll update the weight blog with a race review!

As I now have access to lots of discounted things because of where I work I am now the proud owner of a blower/vac. I only bought it on Tuesday but I could have used it last weekend as I swept up all the leaves that the next door neighbours tree dropped onto our driveway (can you tell that I’m pi**ed off about it!). I keep seeing things in peoples offices and thinking….oooh I’d like one of those!!

Alana has a fun run at school today. Didn’t look like it was going to happen when I got up this morning as it was pouring with rain, but by the time that I’d dropped her off at school it had stopped, and the sun is now shining!! But that’s Melbourne for you!

Okay well that’s my news for this week. Stay tuned!

Friday 20th May

It's starting to get a bit chilly in the mornings now. I got into the car to go to the gym this morning and there was a little bit of ice on the windscreen. It was gone as soon as I put the wipers on, but it was there, which means that Autumn is finally arriving.

Looking at the weather reports I think that it's going to arrive next week. We're in for some rain, and about time too. Check out the weather in Brisbane yesterday. Unbelievable! And this is what happened in Perth earlier in the week. Some really weird weather lately!

Well I've nearly done 2 weeks of this detox, and it's now starting to get a bit tough. It's just quite restrictive and that's what's tough. And yes I really miss my champers too! I think I've lost a bit of weight by doing it, but I'm not sure that I feel any different for doing it. I will do the 3 weeks as I want to see the end results and I will probably give it another go in 6 months or so, fool that I am!!

Still addicted to Big Brother. It's probably one of the better series that I've watched especially as there are alot of women in there who are so up themselves. Great entertainment!

Friday 13th May

It's been ages since I've updated the blog....sorry everyone who reads this. (especially J2).

So what's been happening then I hear you ask?

The job is going well. It's still a bit busy then quiet, but all in all it's not a bad job. The company are very staff friendly and are very flexible, which is great. I have a lovely office all to myself and I look out the window and there are wild rabbits hopping around.

I've also got a really flash 19inch flat monitor....how modern am I now!!

We're all getting a bit concerned about the weather now. There has been hardly any rain over the last couple of months, the sun just keeps shining. Now that's all well and good for getting the clothes dry and enjoying the lovely autumn days, but what about the dams!! And I can feel more water restrictions coming on too. Not good!

I've signed up for another fun run. This one is called Run to the G. It's a 10km race, which I haven't done for ages, but I've been running up to about 12km once a week, so I should be able to finish it. I've even found 3 other people who run at about the same time as me, so we're all going to meet up and run together. How cute is that!!

Doing a detox for the next 3 weeks, but you can read about it on my weight blog. It hasn't been too hard, but it's a bit monotonous eating the same food over and over again! And my weight is slowly moving down the scale too, so at least it's not all in vain. Hopefully I'll feel good after the 3 weeks, and my skin and hair will look fresh and healthy.....yeah right, who am I kidding!!

Some good news. Alana has now cracked her fear of swimming on her back. She had to have somebody hold her if she was floating on her back, but her swimming teacher bribed her with the offer of buying her a beanie doll if she could do it without floats or anyone holding her, and last week she finally did it. So off we headed to the toy shop to buy her a beanie doll. She can now move up to the next swimming group too, which is even better. I love the thought that she can swim well, especially as we live in an environment where there is lots of water and lots of pools in peoples gardens. She is a very strong swimmer on her front, so we may see a budding swimming champion here!

And I'm now addicted to Big Brother....again!! I wasn't that bothered when it was on last year, but I watched the first episode on sunday night and have been addicted every since. They've put in all single people this time, which is a laugh in itself, and they've also put in lots of very confident, good looking women, who don't seem to get on well with other women. I have to make sure that everything in the house is done by 7.00pm so that I can sit down and watch it. The first Friday night episode is on tonight, so that's going to be good viewing in my books!!

Well that's about all that's happened over the last couple of weeks. And again, I'm sorry that I haven't been here for a while, but life has been a bit ordinary lately with nothing new to report.
