Sunday 25th June

This has to be a quick one as I'm about to race out the door to meet Michelle for our long run. I'm hoping to do 20km today in preparation for the 1/2 marathon next month.

Well we are now seriously into winter. The last few mornings it's got down to about 5 degrees, but we've then had brilliant blue sunshine and tops of about 14 or 15 degrees, so I can't complain too much. We've also had some rain, finally.

I was off work for 4 days week before last as I had the most horrible cold/flu thing. I didn't even get to exercise at all for a whole week, which is not good considering I've got to be as fit as possible for next month. Alana was also sick and Nick has just recovered too.

I've seen that the UK is finally having some summer weather. Just make sure you all slip slop slap!!

Okay, gotta go. Will catch up again soon!

Tuesday 14th June

Yeuch I feel horrible. Yep I've come down with a cold, can you believe that? I blame Alana totally, it's her fault. She came down with the flu last Wednesday and has been sick and coughing and spluttering all over me ever since. I've managed to get her to go to school today but she still had a sniffly nose and a bit of a cough. Nick took a couple of days off last week to look after her and my Mum looked after her for a day as well.

Yesterday was a public holiday for the Queens Birthday. It's also the start of the ski season but alas there is no snow in sight. It's just been too warm! Can you believe it, it's still warm in June. That's like it still being warm in December for all you UK people. We have had a bit of rain but nothing like we should be getting that's for sure. I'm loving the fact that I can still hang washing outside rather than it being all hung over clothes horses inside.

We are now the proud owners of a new widescreen TV. We ummed and aahed about getting a plasma TV, but decided that we'd just live with a widescreen for now and maybe get the plasma in the next year or so. At least there won't be any more arguements between us and Alana about who's watching what. She can go and watch her DVD's on one TV and we can watch what we want on the other one. The only arguement is going to be who watches what TV. And I can already see us being relegated to the back room watching the little TV!!

I'm doing a fun run on Sunday. See the Weight Blog for more details. Not great timing to get a cold is it!! I'm popping pills like nobody's business at the moment to try and get it to clear up quickly. Feel like a bit of a junkie!

We went and saw Star Wars last weekend at the Regency Lounge. It was lovely to be able to have a glass of champers and some food served to me during the show. But I didn't think the seats were that comfortable, and there was no sweet popcorn!!! We also want to see Mr & Mrs Smith, War of the Worlds and Madagascar. Looks like I'm going to have to be nice to Mum for a while so that I can get some babysitting services in!!

Sorry it's taken me a while to update. Will try a bit harder!

Saturday 4th June

Didn't have time to put up a post yesterday as it was hectic at work. About time that it started to get busy. Saying that my boss is off to China and Japan for just over a week so it'll be back to boring again!!

I took Alana for her 6 week checkup with the Optometrist and she has come on in leaps and bounds by wearing her glasses. The woman took her through some of the same tests that she had problems with before and she was so much better this time.

And her first tooth fell out on Monday. She was very excited about it too. Couldn't wait to tell me when I went to pick her up from school. And she was even more excited when the tooth fairy left $2 for her.

Here she is wearing her favourite hat. She is still wearing her pyjamas, but wanted to wear the hat as soon as she got out of bed!!

We are also the proud new owners of a dining table and chairs. Previously we were using a kitchen table that my sister had lent us. The chairs were absolutely awful, and when you sat on them there was no padding left at all so you sunk through the chair. Not very comfortable I can tell you.

We can now invite people over for dinner....well when we get a new oven!

It's big and square and it's got 8 seats....and the seats are purple - is there any other colour???

We're going to a 21st party at lunch time today. It's my friend's Margaret's son. I still remember when he was born!! I'm feeling old now. Oh well, free bar and lots of champagne should help me forget!
