Wednesday 7th September

So where do I start

I’ll work my way backwards I think

Firstly, I’ve just done another ½ marathon. If you want to read about it go HERE. The next one is in 3 weeks time, followed by another one two weeks after that. Definitely addicted to them now.

Weather – well what can I say other than this is Melbourne so expect anything. Last week I had ice on the car window, this morning it was 14 degrees at the same time of the day so work that one out! Tomorrow it’s going to be sunny and 23 degrees yet on Sunday it’s going to be wet and windy with a top temperature of 12 degrees! I love Melbourne!

The new BBQ still hasn’t been put together although we did use the old one last weekend as it was a lovely sunny weekend.

Alana and Nick have both had colds over the last week, but luckily I’ve managed to avoid getting one, touch wood.

School holidays will be upon us again in 2 weeks time. Mum’s going to look after Alana one day each week and I’m taking a day off each week as well, so she’ll only go to Vacation Care for 3 days each week. It looks like there may be quite a few kids from her school going this time, so at least she’ll know people there.

Nothing new has happened with the house. I think it’s just a bit of indecision about what colour scheme we want for the kitchen. We can’t even decide what colours we want for the cushions that will go on the lounge suite!!

Pretty boring! Nothing else to add.

Friday 19th August

Yes it's nearly the weekend again.

Not sure why I'm so happy as it's going to be quite a stressful one.

We've got the family get together tomorrow!! Should be a barrel of fun.....NOT!! We're all meeting up at an indoor soft play centre, which is going to be absolutely packed because they've forecast rain. This means that there's probably not going to be anywhere to sit, also lots of kids have their birthday parties at these places, so there's going to be hundreds of screaming kids too. Not to mention the fact that none of us really get along that well either.

I can also see that everyone is going to want to come back to our place as it's just up the road. So I'll probably have to play hostess to everyone, which means I'm going to have to go and buy biscuits and lollies for everyone. And I'll probably have to buy alcohol too....at least there's one good thing out of it all!!

On Sunday I've got a 10km Fun Run. Have been a bit slack with my running this week so I'm not looking to do any PB's!! And judging by the weather forecast it's going to be cold, wet and windy!!

I'm about to start packing up my office as we're moving over to a new office on the other side of the building. Haven't got vey much to pack as I haven't been here long enough to accumulate too much junk so it shouldn't take too long!

Weather is crap today. It's been raining all day and looks set to continue for the rest of the weekend and well into next week. Yes, we still need the rain, but couldn't it just rain at night??

We are now the proud owners of a new BBQ. As we sell them at work, we thought it stupid not to take advantage of this. Check it out here. Ours is the 4700.

Nick's going to put it together some time over the weekend (if he gets time). Then we need to sell the old one. It'll probably need a bit of a clean and polish. May be able to sell it to my sister as their one is really old.

Roll on Summer!

Friday 12th August

Spring is in the air. Lots of the trees have blossom starting to appear.

We've just had the coldest August day for however many years!! The last few days have been really cold. 10 degrees maximum. There was ice on the windscreen of the car!! Luckily it is now getting warmer again. The sun is shining. Can't wait for the summer!

I ran another 1/2 marathon last weekend. Go here to read all about it. I've got another 3 planned over the next couple of months. No risk of me considering a full marathon though as I am absolutely knackered after doing a 1/2 (thank god for that!!).

It's the last week of Big Brother. We've just had Nadia, who was last year's UK Big Brother winner visit the house for a few days. Now that was entertaining viewing! She is a scream that one. And I hear that she used to work in the Barclays Bank in Woking!! She's changed a bit from last year. Lost lots of weight, changed her hair etc. Is that what being a celebrity does to you?

We're off to the Scienceworks and the Planetarium on Sunday for a nice family day out. I know Alana is really going to enjoy it.

My brother Jeff is coming down from Sydney next weekend with his wife and kids. We (as in the whole family) are all meeting up. This is going to be an eye opener. We haven't been together as a family (remembering that I have 4 siblings) since 2002. Now we don't all get on well together I might add, so I'm going there with an open mind and a razor sharp tongue!!

Tuesday 2nd August

Hello again.

I’m sitting at my desk at work looking out at a beautiful blue sky, with the sun shining. I still can’t believe that we’re in the middle of winter, it’s just not normal!!

I’m doing another ½ marathon on Sunday. Went out for a long run this Sunday and ran 19.2km in 2 hours. I’m so enjoying the running. Still can’t believe that I can actually run this distance.

I’m trying to keep a potential cold at bay. Woke up last Friday with a sore throat, so immediately went to the chemist and nearly bought the whole pharmacy out!! I’m sure they thought that I had a drug problem!! Anyway I’m happy to advise that the cold has not been able to break through the barrier of drugs that I’ve ingested each morning!

Nick and I had a lovely time when we went up to town last weekend. But are you all sitting down….we didn’t go to the Casino! Can you believe it? It was just too cold to walk down there. The wind was biting cold, so we snuggled up in our apartment and drank champagne and ate lollies and chocolate instead!!

Alana had the tooth fairy visit her again last week. That’s tooth number 2 now. Unfortunately the tooth fairy was very busy the night that the tooth came out and it was only when Alana highlighted the fact that the tooth fairy hadn’t taken her tooth the following morning that she eventually made a call to the house while Alana was getting ready for school….(can’t believe that I forgot to take the tooth out and put a coin in the little bag!!).

I’ve had a close encounter with a kangaroo! There’s been this wild kangaroo bouncing around the work buildings over the last few days and we all had an email to let us know that it was on the grounds. Anyway I leave the building to go home, wander up the stairs to the car park and I come face to face with the kangaroo at the top of the stairs, just hopping by. Scared the absolute c**p out of me, and I probably did the same to it, as it raced off over the back paddocks!!

Friday 22nd July

HELLO....anyone there?

Can't believe that it's been over 2 weeks since I last posted. It's been a busy couple of weeks too.

You'll all be happy to hear that I've now done my first 1/2 marathon. Race report here. I've got another one in 3 weeks time and then a 10km run a couple of weeks after that too. I've got the bug!!!

And I've also found myself a new person to wax my eyebrows...thank god. She did a great job too, so I've booked to go back. It's like trying to find the right hairdresser. You have to keep trying them till you get one that understands what you want done, and then does it how you ask!!

Had some great weather over the last few days. Considering it's the middle of winter, we've had temperatures up to 16 degrees with clear blue skies. Saying that, I had to scrape some ice off the car window the other morning as it got down to about 3 degrees!!

Hope you all survived the London bombings. Couldn't believe what I was seeing on the news. And have heard this morning that there were more today! Must be really scary getting on the tube, not knowing if you're on the one they're going to blow up!!

Hope you've all been making the most of the summer weather. Looks like you're actually having a decent summer for a change. Hope nobody's complaining that it's TOO hot!! Just enjoy it while it lasts!!

We're now ready to get our kitchen underway. Nick just needs to measure it up and then we can go and order cupboards. Still haven't made a final decision about colour, but that shouldn't be too hard to do now should it.....??

Work is now busy - knew it would happen sooner rather than later. It's a really lovely company with a great feeling about it. Nice people too, although there are a couple who get on the nerves (J2 & J3 think MN).

This weekend Nick and I are off to town to celebrate his birthday. I've booked a lovely apartment at a hotel which overlooks the Docklands, so we'll probably go and find a restaurant there to eat, and then find a pub that's got some music. And we may just wander over to the Casino...what am I talking about, of course we're going to the casino!!

Sunday 3rd July

Well it's the start of a new financial year over here. And of course because I work for the MD, there was alot of work to do sorting out the budget and getting all the figures together, collating and sorting into binders and then sending them out to all the board members for thier board meeting next week.

Needless to say it was total bedlam and I was run off my feet!! It was nice to be busy for a change, and I hope that it continues. Can you believe that I've now been in my new job for over 2 months. Another month and then I get a pay increase....yey!!!

It's school holidays at the moment so me and my Sister took our daughters to see Disney on Ice yesterday. It was fun for all the girls, but I'd had enough of my sister by the end of the day and I was glad to get home and put my feet up with a nice glass of champers.

We're right into winter now. Weather has been rainy and then sunny, so I can't complain really.

Haven't done any more on the house. At least all the leaves have stopped falling in the garden now, so one last blow with the Blower Vac and we shouldn't have to use it again until next Autumn!!

I'm off today for another 20km run with my friend Michlle. It's only 2 more weeks until the 1/2 marathon so I need to get in some serious running. Just hope the weather holds out. At least it's not raining today!

Sunday 25th June

This has to be a quick one as I'm about to race out the door to meet Michelle for our long run. I'm hoping to do 20km today in preparation for the 1/2 marathon next month.

Well we are now seriously into winter. The last few mornings it's got down to about 5 degrees, but we've then had brilliant blue sunshine and tops of about 14 or 15 degrees, so I can't complain too much. We've also had some rain, finally.

I was off work for 4 days week before last as I had the most horrible cold/flu thing. I didn't even get to exercise at all for a whole week, which is not good considering I've got to be as fit as possible for next month. Alana was also sick and Nick has just recovered too.

I've seen that the UK is finally having some summer weather. Just make sure you all slip slop slap!!

Okay, gotta go. Will catch up again soon!
